No environment too extreme for these IPCs! This selection of robust industrial computers can handle all your production needs.

Does your company struggle with extreme environmental factors that require robust equipment? Do you work with corrosive chemicals? Is your equipment exposed to extreme temperatures? Do your computers have to be able to take a bump? Or even more: constant shocks and harsh use? Then you need an industrial PC. But do IPCs exist for your specific application? Microtron guarantees they do! Because what we do not have in our range, we design ourselves.

AN INDUSTRIAL PC: CONTEMPORARY TECHNOLOGY IN A ROBUST JACKET

The components of an IPC are almost the same as those of a desktop computer that you buy in the store. Only these components are made individually so that they are resistant to specific environmental factors. IPCs are robust but not cumbersome or crude as a result. In terms of processor power, RAM speed and graphics capabilities, these industrial computers should not be inferior to their mainstream counterparts.

DOES YOUR IPC HAS TO BE RESISTANT TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES?

Do you need an industrial computer that performs smoothly at high, low or fluctuating temperatures? An international customer asked Microtron to design better IPCs, specialized for greenhouse construction, that would function smoothly at temperatures up to 70°.

Chips, fine electrical wiring, batteries - in short all the elements related to electronics - do not mix well with high temperatures. Therefore, the heat resistance of each component had to be taken into account in the development of these IPCs. For both function and safety.

In addition to additional cooling elements and a customized housing, specially designed components were chosen, from network cards and processors to hard drives to the motherboard. All these components were part of the extended temperature series. This industrial hardware can withstand temperatures from -40° to +85°. And it is resistant to temperature fluctuations. After all, a drop in the mercury shrinks most materials, while an increase causes them to expand. With a standard PC, this would quickly lead to problems with your internal hardware components.

However, these modified industrial computers were able to continue to perform flawlessly in fluctuating temperatures and simultaneously generate enough processing power to control various installations.

DO YOU WORK IN CHEMICAL OR HUMID ENVIRONMENTS?

Perhaps your work environment is not extremely hot or cold, but certain products pose a risk to your hardware. Regular cleaning with industrial cleaning products or under high water pressure can affect screens, housings or internal components.

The answer for these types of environments are customized plastic and metal sleeves with a high tolerance to corrosive ingredients. An additional layer (coating) is placed on top, which further increases the resistance but also protects vulnerable parts.

For environments with high humidity, a fanless installation can be chosen. Cooling elements are used to compensate for the need for an internal fan. Without fan openings, the body can be made completely waterproof.

This results in industrial PCs that can withstand prolonged or repeated exposure to chemical products and water without short- or long-term damage to your equipment.

DO YOU NEED A SHOCK-RESISTANT INDUSTRIAL COMPUTER?

Have you ever put your faithful desktop computer in the cargo area of a moving truck? Or placed it near a railway or a large industrial drill? Probably not. But we can tell you that its performance would suffer. And that makes sense. The components of your laptop or desktop are able to perform well in ideal conditions, but they are absolutely not resistant to violent movements.

But how do you ensure that an IPC can absorb such shocks and still continue to work as if you were in your office? By ensuring that these vibrations are absorbed. IPCs that are placed in vehicles or are part of a production chain with heavy machinery must absorb repeated heavy shocks. Securing the components of your computer with shock-absorbing adhesives absorbs these vibrations so that the fragile internal connections and components are spared.

Sometimes, not only do constant vibrations have to be absorbed, but also sudden, heavy blows. In many companies and sectors, there is no time to handle equipment cautiously. Tablets or laptops must handle falls and harsh use and continue to function without problems. In addition to shock-absorbing adhesives, the outside of the devices is also made shock-resistant with rubber finishes. The result are ruggedized notebooks and tablets that are resistant to falls, bumps and heavy shocks.

PREPARING YOUR SYSTEM FOR THE WORST

Do you want to make not only a robust IPC but your entire production chain or data system failproof? Microtron specializes in creating UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) environments that continue to function in the event of a power failure or interruption. In the event of a power failure, this gives you time to switch to an emergency generator or to shut down your installations correctly so that no data corruption occurs.
