Buck-e works as follows: When walking or cycling youngsters pass the school gate, the RFID tags on their bikes or book bags are scanned. Each scan record is converted into a virtual coin worth 0.10 cents. Those coins can be used in a local ice cream shop or at the carnival. It is a great way to motivate children to travel in an eco-friendly way.

Step by step to a better environment

The idea might be simple, but the hardware is anything but. After all, every school is different: some have multiple entrances; others only one. Each of the gates has different dimensions. The data box required for such a project is also nothing you can simply order on Amazon. A specialist is indispensable for such complex issues.
